New amber list rules if vaccinated in Europe or the USA

From 2 August (4am), if you’re coming to England from an amber list country and have been fully vaccinated in the USA or Europe you will not have to quarantine or take a day 8 test on arrival.

The European countries that this rule applies to are:

    • EU countries
    • Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, Switzerland and the Vatican City

The rules are different if you’ve been in France. They are in this guide.

You must be fully vaccinated with a vaccine authorised by:

    • the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for Europe
    • Swissmedic for Switzerland
    • the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the USA

You must have had your final dose of the vaccine at least 14 days before you arrive in England.

You must still book and take a day 2 test.

    Showing your vaccination status

You need to show your travel operator proof that you’ve been fully vaccinated with one of the authorised vaccines before you travel.

    This proof should be:

    • an EU Digital COVID Certificate (EU DCC) for Europe
    • a CDC card for the USA – you’ll also need to show proof of USA residency, such as your USA passport, visa or Green Card

If you cannot show an EU DCC or CDC card you must follow the rules for those who are not fully vaccinated in this guide.”

"The government says it hopes to extend the quarantine exemption to those who have received their vaccinations abroad later in the summer."

    gerade gelesen:

Quarantine-free travel to amber list countries for people who have received two doses of a Covid vaccine is “absolutely something” the Government is working on, Matt Hancock has said.

The Health Secretary said the move “hasn’t been clinically advised yet,” but that ministers are currently drawing up plans to exempt those who are fully vaccinated.

“When I’m in a position to be able to say something then we will do,” he told Sky News. “But it’s absolutely something we’re working on and it’s something I want to see.”

    ...

The move would effectively render amber countries green for the fully vaccinated, opening up quarantine-free travel to most holiday destinations in Europe and the US.

The change could be announced as soon as Thursday, when the next travel review of the traffic light system is expected, The Times reported today.

    Das macht Hoffnung...

Genau.
